Chapels
Tsugaru Church is a multi-site church. In other words, Tsugaru Church is one church with more than one congregation(chapel) each having its own identity and activities and yet possessing unity in purpose and a sharing of resources. There is one staff team, one membership, and one elders board. Each congregation has its own services, plans, budget and deacons board; however cooperation in manpower, prayer and other resources enables a wider ministry.
Currently 3 ministries are operating
International Chapel began in 1993 with a desire to minister who either were from an English speaking country or had an interest in English. However changes have happened over the years and the elders feel it is time to close this ministry. On March 29th with a potluck meal and a time of thanks and worship International Chapel closed. We are grateful for all God has done over the past 15 years.
As God leads and provides, Tsugaru Church is praying to see 10 Chapels ministering in some capacity by the year 2010. (10X10 is our prayer these days)
West Hirosaki area: 30,000 people with three known Christians.
East Hirosaki-Onoe area (a big new suburban development): 30,000 people with two known Christians.
North Hirosaki/Fujisaki area- a new suburban development and older community with 30,000 people. Many churches praying for this area but noone with plans or vision to start a church.
13 Lake District: 20,000 people, with no known Christians or any known interest. Church flyers were handed out in 2003.
Imabetsu area: 20,000 people, with no known Christians, but one lady showing interest. Church flyers were handed out in 2003.
Tsugaru City: 40,000 people. About 20 people regularly attending Tsugaru Church events from this area.
Hirakawa area: the church had a ministry in this area from 2000 to 2007; however with a lack of staff and local interest this minstry is put on hold. we pray for the day when a church can be planted among the 40,000 who don't know Jesus.
Please pray for each of these areas. Why not consider coming to contribute to Jesus name proclaimed and a church established to worship Him.
