God Centered – The Tsugaru Gospel Church exists to the glory of God. Public worship and personal devotion are to be visible expressions of whole-hearted devotion to Jesus Christ. We will strive to live so that He will have first place in everything. Col. 1:18
Bible Based – We make the Bible the final authority. We are committed to equipping Christians through the teaching and application of God`s word. The emphasis is not merely on knowing the word but also in applying it in daily life.
Outreach Oriented – The Tsugaru Gospel Church seeks to reach the non-churched for Jesus. We seek to be aware of our culture and the need to connect to people where they are and as they are. This is done to fulfill our purpose to make more disciples for Jesus Christ. This includes providing adequate facilities, programs, and printed materials in order to facilitate growth (buildings, bookstore, coffee shop, and outreach programs).
Relevant Programming – Without compromising biblical absolutes, we attempt to adapt our ministry to current needs in order to communicate the gospel in ways it can be best understood and acted upon.
Loving Relationships – We stress healthy relationships. We believe that small groups are the best place to develop relationships, and to care for one another. We also stress ministry motivated by love, not out of a sense of obligation or guilt.
Family Affirming – We believe that families are crucial to God
s kingdom and to society. Therefore, we seek to assist the strengthening of marriages and families. We are committed to childrens, youth, and senior`s programs.People Developing – We seek to help people grow. We provide leader training and mentoring opportunities. We encourage STA and STM ministry. We believe that every member is called to serve God`s church.
Optimistic Viewpoint – We desire to see people and situations from God
s eyes; eyes of grace, not judgment. We expect Gods word and His spirit to effect change.Creativity & Flexibility – We value creativity and flexibility in ministry. We will regularly evaluate our ministry for faithfulness to biblical teaching, relevance to our culture, and effectiveness in activity.
Servant Leadership – We value leaders who lead by service as Jesus did. We also value leadership – a willingness to step up to take responsibility and step out, leading the church as He leads.
Kingdom Building – We believe we should contribute to His kingdom in Japan and the world. This is done by church planting in the Tsugaru and other unchurched areas in which we are led to minister, and by initiating ministries that contribute to the growth of the kingdom of God (bookstore, coffee shop).
