Our vision
The church was at a crossroads in 2001. The church was established in 1991 and so 10 years had passed. The founders, the Ghents were committing themselves to another 10 years of ministry. The church needed a defining vision to carry the church thru to the next phase of growth. VISION 10 is just that.
[VISION 10] (revised at year 6)
We will seek to be a place where those who are hurting, the depressed, frustrated and confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.
We will preach the gospel to the people in the Tsugaru. Through conact-forming events, like cooking and English classes, we will seek to introduce people to Jesus praying that 1% will become part of His family- the local church. This will also involve itinerent ministry in the many towns and villages.
We will pray and work toward seeing 1 church established for every 15000 people and to see these people being formed into a family of families.
Through Bible study, small groups, seminars, and a Bible School we will be seek to be established in our understanding of faith and seek to work that faith out in community.
We will be involved in missions by supporting, sending and receiving short term teams and individuals.
We actively participate in assisting the youth to meet Jesus. This will involve programs such as summer and winter Bible clubs, preschool programs.
We are committed to minstering to the aging.
Through wedding and funeral ceremonies we will seek to share the gospel and the hope we have with Jesus.
Through the bookstore ministry we will assist believers in Aomori and Akita to grow in their faith and to share that faith.
We will assist people to discover their place in God's family and to help them develop their abilities to serve. We are committed to shared leadership. At the appropriate time each of the chapels will call gifted servant leaders.
