The Messers
Armin and Heike Messer are both graduates of the Theological Seminary of St. Chrischona in Switzerland. They are from the south west of Germany (close to the border to France), and arrived in Sapporo in April 2002. Having spent about two years learning the Japanese language and about Japanese culture, they moved down south to the Tsugaru region. After a year of training in Itayanagi and Onoe, they moved to Kanagi in July 2005 to help the chapel.
Their son, Aviel Friedrich, was born in 2004 in Sapporo, just before their move. Their daughter, Hadassah was born in 2006.
